A Paramedic and an ambulance arrived a few minutes after a call to the Telephone 111 doctor. I had extremely high blood pressure and then lost my speech. I was taken to the A& E Stroke Unit in Majors. I was seen immediately by a doctor and charge nurse who gave me their undivided attention. The charge nurse came with me as I was rushed to the scan dept for a head scan. Fortunately no bleed was seen on the brain.
My symptoms were due to Hyponatraemia.
The care I received from the Doctor, charge nurse and nurses was excellent, efficient, caring and friendly.
I could not have wished for better care than I was given.
I was taken to Harvest A Ward where again I received good care from staff.
As a coeliac patient I greatly appreciated that Gluten Free meals are now served to Coeliac patients. So much better than having to eat my own toast and jam for each meal as was the case on a previous visit.
I have been an in-patient in Queens Hospital several times over the years and my recent visit was a much improved experience. Thank you and Well done to all staff.
