"Great, timely care for my daughter"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Ear, Nose & Throat (Ward 9)

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter contacted NHS 24 feeling very unwell. She was quickly given an appointment to attend the local Out of Hours Service @ Airdrie HC. She was assessed by one of the nurse practitioners and promptly referred to hospital for treatment.

The nurse at the Out of hours service showed her kindness and compassion and I am so very thankful to her for this. My daughter did not expect to be referred to hospital, but felt very reassured by the nurses explanation and calmness.

Within 3-4 hours of making the initial phone call, she was admitted into hospital and receiving treatment. The service she experienced was fantastic and made me feel relieved and grateful that she was in safe hands with the wonderful staff that she encountered.

I would also like to thank all staff within ward 9 Monklands Hospital. The ward had a really friendly atmosphere and all staff encountered were very welcoming and helpful. She was shown great kindness and care from everyone within the ward. The communication and care received was second to none and the staff are a real credit to Monklands Hospital.

Dear Mum who is grateful

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on the excellent care your daughter received during her recent admission to Hospital and stay in in Ward 9.

I am aware how daunting it can be coming in to hospital and I am pleased that you found the staff in Ward 9 kind and welcoming and that their care helped make your daughter's stay as pleasant an experience as possible.

The staff within the ENT Service and Ward 9 will really appreciate your feedback and I will make sure that this is shared with them.

I hope your daughter is continuing to make a good recovery.

With best wishes

Lynn McTavish

Dear Mum who is grateful,

Thanks so much for getting in touch with us. Along with Lynn above, it can be really daunting and scary being referred to hospital. I'm so glad that our Out of Hours staff were able to make her feel a little better and acted promptly.

I will pass this onto the Service Manager for Out of Hours and make sure the staff who saw your daughter are identified and thanked personally.

Again, thanks for getting in touch and I too, hope your daughter is recovering well.

All the best

Laura

Dear Mum who is grateful,

Thank you so much for your recent post on patient opinion relating to the fantastic care given to your daughter whilst in Ward 9. The nursing staff will be delighted that your daughter and yourself felt safe in the hands of the staff in Ward 9.

We strive to do the best for our children and their mums whilst in the Ward. We realise it can be difficult having your daughter in hospital, however you would be reassured that staff were welcoming, helpful and kind.

Will pass this on to the staff in the ward. Hope your daughter is recovering well.

Kind regards

Karen
