"Creating a memory book for my husband who has Alzheimers Disease"

About: Older people's mental health

(as a carer),

As my husbands carer, I found this small informal group very friendly and reassuring. It was very interesting to meet and talk to everyone there. We are creating a memory book for my husband who has Alzheimers Disease.

My husband is finding it increasingly difficult to communicate as he is getting ever more confused, but he did open up at times and obviously felt secure in this environment with people whom I think he recognised.

The Business Development Manager for Older People's Mental Health has made the following comments about this feedback:

It is really great to receive such positive feedback about our Memory Matters Group. We will make sure that this feedback is passed on to those involved. It is good to know that the input we provide does make a positive difference to people's lives.

Our future plans include trying to provide more opportunities for people to attend Memory Matters Groups across Hampshire.
