What I liked
The staff at the byron house center were very helpfull and understanding... the individual nurses on the EAU ward were pleasant.
What could be improved
the food... i had an over heated tv dinner in which the gravy was dried up on the sides of the plastic plate so i chose to have a sandwich at tea time only to find it was corned beef on dry bread it was like eating cardboard.
Anything else?
I was admitted to the EAU ward where I was shown to a bed then left for 3 hours, I was in pain and no medication was given until a second doctor came along and examined me, at this point I told the doctor to just give me something for my pain and I would go home as I was very stressed out and very uncomfotable with the pain I was experiencing, upon seeing my reaction I was then given an injection of morphine and taken down for xrays, after being put on a saline drip I stayed in the hospital overnight, come the next day due to the painkillers I had been given I was a lot more at ease I chose to come home rather than take up a bed which I thought suited to a person in more need than myself.I was told there was no medication available at the time but it would be available the next day after 2pm if I could send some one to collect it,upon calling the ward several times the following day it was engaged then when I did eventualy get through I was asked far to many times for my date of birth only to be told they had nothing down for me .It was not until some one went to the hospital to collect my medication at 6pm and it was still not available and words were exchanged that they were told to call back in an hour ,I eventualy got my medication at 8pm that evening. I will in future when ever possible go to an alternative hospital. In hindsight had I not been so ill and in so much pain at the time I would have chosen a different hospital
