"Awful patient service"

About: Parker Drive Surgery

I find the reception staff at this surgery rude and unhelpful. This was from day one of registering myself and my daughter. Even asking for a pen to fill in my registration forms was met with rolled eyes. There is no baby change facility at this surgery so I was told I was "welcome to use the toilet floor but to take the soiled nappy home with me". Who in their right mind would change their baby's nappy on a cold, germ riddled floor?! I have had conflicting information regarding medication reviews. The receptionists give one bit of information and the doctor another. The confusion led to a GP being very rude on the phone to me which is not helpful when trying to get a script for your anxiety. My daughters one year immunisations went overdue due to not being sent an appointment via the post. I did however recieve a poorly written letter for not attending the appointment that was not sent to me! Overall, I avoid going to the doctors at all costs and would not recommend this surgery. Unfortunately, there is not another surgery accepting new patients within my catchment.

Thank you for taking the time to review us on NHS Choices. We take all comments and suggestions very seriously and feed them back to the team so that we can reflect and make any necessary improvements. I am sorry on this occasion if you found the receptionist/doctor rude and unhelpful this certainly would have never been their intention, they always strive to deliver a good service to the patient. Unfortunately at Parker Drive we do not have any baby changing facilities due to lack of space and we do request that patients take the soiled nappies with them due to many toilet blockages in the past. With regards to appointments for child immunisations these are sent direct from the immunisation service and the practice will follow up after any missed appointments. I shall be looking into the quality of the letters that are being sent. If you would like to discuss with me in more detail you can contact me on the following number: Mrs Becky Powell - Practice Manager 0116 2353148
