"Professional and caring service"

About: St Peter's Hospital / Accident and emergency

On the 9th October I was taken by ambulance to St.Peters A&E with severe abdominal and chest pains, which were later diagnosed as gallbladder stone and inflammation of the gallbladder.

I have to say that the service, care and professionalism I encountered was absolutely excellent. All in all I must have encountered at least thirteen members of staff ranging from the Guildford ambulance crew through to medical practitioners and reception staff in A&E, and the following morning the reception and medical staff of both the Surgery Assessment Unit and Ultrasound Unit.

All showed care and concern for my situation, and kept me fully informed throughout the course of treatment, and made what was a painful situation more bearable.

Like many, I have seen numerous media reports detailing problems in the NHS, but my personal experience shows that no matter what pressure they may be under, they still manage to provide a first rate caring professional service.
