"20 week scan completely ruined"

About: Queen Charlotte's Hospital / Maternity

We carefully selected our hospital based on reviews however so far we have been very dissatisfied with Queen Charlotte's. Every appointment we have been kept waiting - perhaps understandable in an NHS hospital. However what is not ok is the attitude of the staff - rude, impatient and really go some in ruining the experience of a first baby.

To top it all off the sonographer we saw for our 20 week scan really took the biscuit.

We were stuck in traffic and so called the central line to inform them we were running 10 minutes late. They told us it wasn't a problem and that there was a 20 minute allowance for lateness. Reassured by this we continued our trip to the hospital. We turned up 14 minutes late and the Sonographer refused to see us. They refused to even come out of their room.

We were really worried as we didn't want to miss the scan because if there was a problem we wanted to know early. We were finally given the manager's mobile phone number they told the sonographer to see us and that there was actually a 30

Minute allowance. They then proceeded to lie to the manager and say they were busy seeing another patient at the moment - there was nobody in their room!

The sonographer eventually showed us into their room and proceeded to argue with us. I had to tell them I didn't wish to discuss the matter with them further they then Rushed us through our scan and refused to ask us whether we wanted to know the sex of the baby. Their friend was waiting for in the hallway so they were clearly in a rush to leave.

Horrid attitude and rude.

Totally appalling - this person should not be dealing with members of the public
