"Excellent paramedic care and then the AE dept"

About: Worthing Hospital / Accident and emergency

On Saturday 21st October I collapsed at a family party in Offington with very low blood pressure. An ambulance came within 10 minutes and, although I was very hazy for the next c3 2-3 hours, my wife said that the two paramedics were brilliant - very calm and friendly. The ambulance journey to AE was straightforward with my ECG and blood pressure both quietly monitored by the very reassuring non driving paramedic

Once in AE I was quickly allocated a cubicle. The ward looked very clean. Although I was still very hazy I was quickly checked for blood tests, a further ECG and my ongoing blood pressure.

When the doctor came they confirmed that my results were good and then clearly explained what they thought had happened i.e. a newly prescribed tablet prescribed by my GP last Monday had 'reacted' with the two tablets that I have taken for many years to reduce my longstanding blood pressure. Overall, an excellent paramedic and AE service. Many thanks.
