"After a brief stay in the Coronary Care..."

About: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary

What I liked

After a brief stay in the Coronary Care Unit at Wigan Infirmary, I would like to express my thanks to all the nursing staff who looked after me. The management tream should also be praised for holding this great team together and keeping them motivated. Needless to say that upon arrival by ambulance from Golborne, I was very scared and it was a nurse who first got me settled in and did their best to reassure me. Thanks also need to be given to the theater team who, over the course of almost three hours, installed the 3 stents that I now have. Evidently there were complications and I don't suppose my repeated: "Are you nearly done yet?" did them any favours. It seems that the NHS get more than their fair share of criticism but, credit where credit is due, the teams are certainly worthy of the highest praise. This praise should also include the ambulance crew who, despite being based in Heywood, delivered me from Golborne to Wigan Infirmary in about 8 minutes. In my opinion, this is a great team and, once again, I'd like to offer my profuse thanks to everyone involved with my treatment. I hope that if I ever meet any of these great and caring people again, it will be under different circumstances. Thanks should also go to the mail room for delivering to me a card simply addressed to "my name" at Wigan Infirmary, Wigan, WN1 2NN. ( the sender, my partner, has apologized for the obvious omission...).
