"Generally through it was an amazing experience"

About: Forth Valley Community Services / Max in the Middle (Health & Wellbeing programme)

(as other),

Our Max in the middle had: Balances, Games, Cooking, Work-outs, and Planning a show. I wasn't there for the show but I think it had turned out amazing because on Thursday I got to watch a full run through in a comfy seat and it was amazing. I liked the idea of Max stickers because it gave the pupils the chance to reward their peers and give their opinion.

My favourite part of the Max week was the cooking. We all came in from break and the Max team and some of the PTA had set up the cooking stuff. It looked amazing and we were all really excited to start cooking. I was put in the salmon boats group (which was the main course), and was doing the salmon and mayonnaise part of the group with another person. The tins took so long to open, but it was fun how it took so long, so I actually enjoyed how long it took. It was fun mixing the salmon on the mayonnaise but it was a bit tough! When we were maxing up the boats (the boats were a lettuce leaf for the boat and chives and grated carrots on the bottom), I got the special job of putting the salmon on the boats. This was very fun because people kept asking for my help and I felt very active in the groups task. One of my classmates sprinkled chives and carrots on the serving trays and it looked very fancy like a real restaurant. When it was time to taste the food we all pretended like we were in a posh restaurant which was very fun. I loved the oatcakes and cheese and I loved the salmon boats as well (I have never liked lettuce or carrots before but when I tried the salmon boats I LOVED them as well as the chives!), but the yoghurt made me shiver and gave me goose bumps all over, even having a tiny bit and with the honey mixed in.

The only other negative feedback I have is the morning exercises were way too painful and I think were way more painful than the teacher expected. Generally through it was an amazing experience and I hope I can do it again. I'd like to say thank you to the Max team for the amazing experience.

thankyou AmazingPusheen for such an in depth description of the recipes in Tasty Tuesday..it's making me hungry just reading how you and your class mates put the Salmon Boats Together. I'm sorry to hear that the morning warm ups were a bit painful, and I'll pass that on to the Team. (Nothing I can do about those yogurt induced shivers though!) I'll also pass on that it was 'amazing'.

all the best Tom
