"Sunderland Royal Hospital is too hot"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I went for an appointment in the fracture clinic at 3:30pm in Friday 20th October.

The first thing that I noticed was that the hospital was very hot. I mean we're talking about 25 degrees plus.

I was moved to a waiting room and everybody bar one or two were wafting leaflets and various things infront of their faces to try and cool down.

The staff were even acknowledging the heat and making jokes with us as they were calling for patients.

My appointment was delayed for over 45 minutes and the heat made the wait torture.

I know that some patients may be cold but there should be windows open to cool the waiting areas at least.

Really not going to enjoy another visit back here, especially as every time I come my appointment is delayed.

I'm sorry to hear that you found the waiting area too hot and will feed this back to the team to see if there is anything that can be done.

Apologies that you also had to wait for a while. The fracture clinic is a very busy department and we would always encourage you to speak to a member of staff if you fee that you have been waiting for a long time without explanation.
