15.10.17 Sunday morning in MIU. Waiting room full. Ring the bell. Wait. Admin opens window. "What is the problem?" I have to lean over the man sitting under the windows to explain that I think I have a urine infection. I give my name, date of birth, address, feeling that the whole room of people can hear everything about me. Next, they all know that I go to provide a sample which I bring back and hand through the windows.
I feel strongly that my dignity and confidentiality were not respected. The booking in arrangement is appalling, embarrassing and against everything the NHS is supposed to stand for.
The nurse practitioner was lovely. Once I was through the doors, they made me feel much more comfortable, and I have no complaints about her,or the treatment I was given.
The waiting room situation is unbelievable. You must make changes.
"Privacy, dignity, confidentiality?"
