"Depression and pain"

About: The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust / Neurology

My daughter after a long wait started on pain management when ready to start the therapy course after many weeks of attending the hospital she had a bout of depression so the person seeing her stopped her appointment's even though we asked them not to, she was just abandoned , many months later we went to see someone else at the hospital still to do with the same condition she was told she would be referred to another specialist after waiting for an appointment we rang to chase it up to be told the specialist who ran the clinic was on long term sick and there would be no clinic when asked what would happen next they weren't interested after much ado the referred us out of area who accepted us got an appointment we were told she could go on their waiting list for specialist clinic but told we would also need pain management explained she had attended but it was stopped due to depression one clinic is no good without the other and consultant agreed they should never have stopped the PMP , they will still not accept her at walton pain management because she has depression , she suffers constant pain and seizures everyday due to the pain but they are not interested because the seizures are non epileptic do they care no , there is a lot more I could say it is true the consultants don't listen they diagnose in minutes and insult your intelligence in the process very disappointed in this centre of excellence

We are very disappointed to read about your daughter's experience and would like to discuss this in more detail with you. We would be grateful if you could contact our Patient Experience Team on 0151 556 3093 or by email to patientexperienceteam@thewaltoncentre.nhs.uk We would need your daughter's consent to disclose any confidential information; the team can discuss this with you. We can assure you that they will do their best to help you.
