About: Warrington Hospital

What I liked

I attended the A&E department with a svere nose bleed at 2300 on Monday 13th September.

The staff were most efficient and kept me informed of my treatment. I was admitted to ward A4 at 0300 for observation. The staff were again excellent and I was seen by the ENT doctor the following morning. I spent 36 hours on A4 before being discharged. I found the ward extremely clean and staff pleasent and efficient.

What could be improved

The bedside adjustable lamp on my bed in A4 was broken when I was admitted, probably the bulb. This made the admission process rather difficult for the nurse who took my records by torch light. She told me the fault had been reported. I again reported the fault 3 times during my stay on the ward, the light was still broken when I was discharged.

This could have been quite dangerous if a patient wa seriously ill during the night.
