"Out patient with procedure and coil fitting"

I was dreading this appointment as I was certain I would need an examination and past events mean intimate examinations are traumatic for me.

Firstly I met with a junior doctor who was really pleasant and professional. They made notes of my menstrual history and problems and was really patient when I had a wobble.

Then I saw the consultant and they were also pleasant and professional. They explained the procedure I was about to have and the benefits of having a coil fitted, however the choice was mine and I could go away and think about it if needed.

I decided to go ahead and although the procedure and coil fitting was painful it was over very quickly.

All the time I was treated with respect, kept informed of the findings during the scan was how long the results would take, etc.

The experience was much better than previous examinations and I would highly recommend the health professionals in the gynaecology dept at Walsall Manor. Should I need further treatment I would be happy to go there again.
