I was due my 2nd baby at the beginning of August, around 37 weeks pregnant baby's movements changed and I was in for monitoring a couple times. At 38 weeks it was decided to move my planned section forward by a week and I was admitted to the ward for steroid injections and to wait my section. I was in the antenatal room on a very busy Summerfield ward in Aberdeen Maternity Hospital. The midwifes and auxiliarys were rushed of their feet in very hot conditions - I only coped with access to a fan. Yes sometimes things took a while to get done and my 2nd steroid was given at 1am 3 hours after they had planned to do it, but these things happen and they were all doing their best.
I was looked after by 3 quite new midwives and couldn't praise them enough, I went home the day after to start our journey as a family of 4 and honestly had the most positive birth experience even with my section being moved due to reduced movements. The 3 midwives were Hannah, Vicki and Zoe.
"Positive birth experience"
