I received an appointment letter which I did not fully understand as I live in Kirk Burton and the appointment was for Scunthorpe. I tried calling the 0300 number on the letter - it cost me £20.00 to keep ringing till I got through and then telling the young lady that I live in Kirk Burton and go to the Kirk Burton Health centre. Could they not make an appoint for me there?
Also the letter effectively said i would need to start with a new referral if I did not get in touch with them within three weeks of the date on the letter - what date on the letter? I scoured the letter for a date and could not see one - nor could anyone I showed the letter to.
I have a corn on my sole and osteoporosis in me back, travelling is therefore challenging - can they not take that into account when making rigid rules like 'all new patients are dealt with at Scunthorpe'?
