"Doctors seem to care - reception are just rude"

I am around 2.5 months pregnant, new to the area and haven't been to a GP about my pregnancy.

waited 2.5 weeks for appt - this was just to register. told to bring urine which they couldn't test cos no one around. At this interview, I was treated quite curtly, not offered a doctors appointment and told I would wait around 3 weeks for a midwife apt even though I was feeling extremely unwell and very stressed about my baby.

Asked to speak to a doctor - refused, no niceness at all here, and no understanding. tried to make apt at Shakespeare Medical centre who woudnt see me, so went to St James A & E to ask for advice - they gave me quick check up and apt for scan as outpatient.

Very, very upset and disappointed at the service from GP

Staff at St James were very helpful even though I felt bad using hospital time!!

Registration - This is an admin task only - you cant book a doc apt til you have gone through registration and there is a minimum of 2 weeks notice to be registered. At that time you get put on a midwife waiting list which is over 3 weeks away.

Midwife only attends surgery once a week.....
