I have experienced a significant lack of coordination during care here in recent weeks. I attended A&E twice in one day to receive treatment, was sent home and told to come back the following morning to see ambulatory care and rheumatology. However approx 1 hour after arrival I was told that due to staff shortages, there was no rheumatology department within whittington for the months of September and October and so was sent to a separate department. As an urgent referral I now must wait 5 months for a rheumatology appointment.
Some members of staff were very helpful and attentive, going above and beyond to help. Such a shame that general organisation and staffing levels have resulted in poor care.
