"Memory Matters Group"

About: Older people's mental health

(as a staff member),

These were comments received from patients and their carers who attended a Memory Matters Group:

- Interesting – picked up on things we didn’t know

- Came for the tea and biscuits!

- Gave me hope

- Will come again next week

- A chance to talk about similar experiences with loved ones

- Able to ask questions about the dementia illness

- Handouts are useful

The Business Development Manager for Older Person's Mental Health has made the following comment regarding this feedback:

It is always good to receive positive feedback about the services we are providing.

The directorate recognises the value and impact of the 'Memory Matters' courses that we deliver and we are currently working, in some places in partnership with other agencies, to make the course more available and widespread across the area.

We do review and evaluate all the courses we deliver and it is through feedback like this from service users and carers that we can make changes for improvement.
