"I had my antenatal care at Pembury and..."

About: Pembury Hospital

What I liked

I had my antenatal care at Pembury and gave birth to my son there as well. The staff were always kind and helpful and always made sure I understood what was going on and what all the numbers and information meant. My son was delivered by emergency C-section after I got pre-eclampsia. I was induced and monitered all the time by an amazing midwife, they never once left my side, and even when they went for a quick lunch break, they made sure that the midwife taking over knew to come and get them so she could be with me when I had my son. I ended up with about 5 different people in my room at one point as everything started going wrong, but I still knew who everyone was and what they were there for. I am expecting my second child and, of all the things I worry about, where I'm going not have them isn't one of them.

What could be improved

The ward I was in after having my son was freezing during the night and boiling hot during the day. This will no doubt change when the new hospital opens soon.

Anything else?

I just hope the care doesn't change when the new building is up and running.
