"Rude and unprofessional receptionist"

I was horrified to witness the attitude of the receptionist when I visited on Friday morning. Due to the open reception area, everyone in the waiting room could overhear the conversation between two separate patients and a very impolite receptionist who clearly displayed a lack of manners. There was a gentleman who had a problem with an appointment and was trying his best to find a solution. The receptionist was being very rude and obstructive. The receptionist acknowledged it was the fault of the practice but because it was not their individual error the receptionist did not apologise. I feel that an apology early on could have resolved the whole situation.

The other scenario involved a lady who could not figure out why her appointment had been changed (she had missed it and was told off like a naughty schoolgirl) and was clearly wanting to see a GP as soon as possible. The receptionist again showed no concern that the lady was quite clearly worried that she would have to wait another three weeks to see a GP. Overhearing that there is a three week wait to see a GP without any attempt at triaging more urgent things is very worrying for patients to hear.

In general, the manner in which the receptionist barked 'Name', 'Date of birth', to people waiting made me cringe.

I do not normally write reviews but this experience really angered me. The good thing about my appointment was that the nurse was lovely and very professional.
