"Getting sorted out and going clinical"

About: Alwoodley Medical Centre

I've had some extremely major issues from a health point of view, the reception staff are helpful if you are polite to them which you should be. I have visited today, did the blood pressure thing and there is a height and weight option so you can work out your own BMI. The doctor was running late so chatted with the lady next door to me who had been there for two hours and still not seen but it was an NHS clerical error. and the nurse who sorted it out did it with an apology and smile.

There are now specialists coming in and doing clinics which is absolutely fantastic, clinics are the way ahead in medicine now. When I rang for an appointment and was asked what it was about the reception staff knew the urgency and fitted me in on the same day which was really good and professional.

The whole ambience of Alwoodley medical centre has changed, the doctors have got themselves sorted out and minor surgeries being done in a place which is infection free not like the hospital's which are full of bugs right downTo the foundations of the building. I found the clerical staff very helpful. I'm not sure if a wheelchair for those who cannot walk very well is going to appear? Everything else is really sorted including the toilet which flushed and the door locked – – they've got a receptionist who is absolutely excellent and you can talk to quite openly. You have to admire the GPs who are treated badly by the politicians and the system and we've got to stay with this practice which is going "gold" it is going to be a very important practice in the city of Leeds. Patients should remember that a smile costs nothing, and little humour amongst ill people goes a very long way. I think that the patients are extremely lucky to belong to this practice

Thank you for your positive feedback. I can confirm that a wheelchair is available for anyone who may need it and we have a sign in reception to this effect.

All staff at the practice work very hard and try to provide the best service they can for all patients. It is reassuring to hear that you have experienced this.
