I suffer from MS and have a "dropped foot" which causes me to have mobility issues. I was recommended to have F E S by my physiotherapist at my clinic appointment but this needed a GP referral for CCG funding. The GP responded to this request for referral very promptly when I checked that referral had been sent. However I waited for 6 weeks and had not had an appointment. When I checked with surgery the receptionist told me the referral had been sent on 27.06.17 when I queried it they said they would get secretary's to follow it up and ring me back the same day. This did not happen so I rang back the next day. The receptionist said I had not been put on the ring back list and made a sort of apology when I could not remember name of receptionist I had spoken to. They did not offer to follow it up but told me I could ring Chapel Allerton myself and to look the number up on website. Chapel Allerton had no record of any referral so I asked what to do next. They advised to request another referral, which I did, and was told to leave it a few days and contact Chapel Allerton to see if they received it. However they did not put the original referral date on referral and now I seem to be back to the bottom of waiting list as the have the later date (07.08.17) as referral date not the original date in June.
I am disappointed that the original referral was never sent and I have had to do all of the follow up myself and am having to wait for months for a treatment which should significantly improve my mobility.
"Unsatisfactory referral"
