"More like a walk in center than a GP"

About: Leeds Student Medical Practice

The same day apointment service suits some students but not all.

As a student nurse, i am away on placement alot, and I do not have time to be waiting around.

Normally despite turning up at 8am, i get given an appointment that is 1 hour later, combined with doctors running late, means that my minimum waiting time is 1 hour 30 minutes.

Its so frustrating that you can't even offer the option to book appointments 2 weeks in advance.

My medical student friends feel the same, and they say they would rather misuse A&E because it takes the same amount of time out of the day, but investigations are done faster.

Not all students can give up 3 hours of their day, for something necessary, but non urgent like sprains or headaches.
