"Decent Doctors, Overbearing and unfriendly..."

Getting an appointment that suits my very busy work schedule is difficult . It can take a very long time to get the phone answered, typically up to 30 minutes. It may not always be possible to get an appointment the same week.

When you get to see the doctors they are a fairly reasonable bunch of GP's who seem genuinley dedcated to helping people. They speak to you reasonably and do their best given the very limited time allowed.

I think the nurses are similar. Happy, friendly and helpful.

The receptionist are another matter.

Firstly one does come away with the immpression that the whole surgery is run by them, for them, with the doctors and nurses subvsevient, the the patients a nuisance.

They have no apparent people skills and are offended by requests for help, curt and disinterested in any problem a patient may have. "Not their Problem" is the answer given on more that one occasion. This is not the attitude one should expect from a public servant, whoes role, surely is to be helpful to patients?

Furthermore their communications have at times been inadequate, leading to misunderstandings.

The patient facing staff really need an attitude adjustment and some training in how to deal with people.

Sadly, for these reasons I cannot presently recomend this surgery.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Due to the high demand for appointments: we have appointments than can be made in advance which normally is one week in advance and emergency on the day appointments.

We are sorry that you have had some bad experiences with our staff. Our reception staff is very important in ensuring the practice runs smoothly and they have recently attended training to help signpost patients to the correct services.

Should you wish to discuss anything further, please contact our practice manager .

We also have an active Patient Participation Group where ideas and feedback from patients are discussed and appropriate action taken.
