Walk-in service available but shoddy. Long waiting times. Access to doctor not guaranteed as you may sometimes have to see a nurse practitioner. If your complaint is less than life-threatening you're in for a hell of a wait, for example 'skin-rash' = 'back of queue'.
We just want appointments! Are you listening Robin Lane?
No appointments available on the day. You will have to go and sit and wait at the walk-in, in crowded room for more than two hours and spread, and receive, even more germs. Or take time out to scratch that skin-rash. Spend some quality time with your puking child. Lovely!
Doctors do not do home visits.
They say you can walk-in for the 'walk-in' and come back if there is a wait - but why not just give you an appointment time to avoid confusion. Also, you are not allowed to discuss more than one issue at the walk-in. Don't even think about it.
If you want an appointment for the following day you have to ring at 8am - but these have all mysteriously been booked-up when you eventually get through on telephone. They may offer you an appointment for a week later.
It's very difficult to even make a routine appointment.
If you do see a doctor - they may say these dreaded words to you...'come back and see me next week'. Easier said than done, mate. Most people can't miss whole mornings of work and you would be unlikely to see same doctor again as well.
You now have to wait in a darkened bunker as they carry out a pointless extension on the surgery. Nice.
Mindless mood-calming, brain-washing music playing on a loop in surgery - presumably so you do not get angry while waiting.
Some receptionists here too are hopeless. They need to communicate better with patients about waiting times for walk-in. They can't even give you a proper confident welcome when you go up to the counter. Poor.
People will just put off accessing the surgery, which is worrying as minor issues could become major issues. Perhaps that's what the surgery wants as we all head for A&E, instead of pestering them.
"Difficult to see a doctor when ill."
