"Terrible new appointment system"

About: The Dekeyser Group Practice

Terrible new appointment system been ringing for over half hour and still not got through to anyone, well I tell a lie someone picked up them hung up immediately (back to the start. I'm on my lunch break and what should take 5 mins has used up a great deal of my time.

This is certainly a step backwards and very disappointing.

Please accept my apologies for the delay in you been able to speak to someone due to the non-clinical changes which we have implemented. We are looking to recruit more staff members to answer the phones.

These changes have been implemented due to rising demand, increasing costs and tight budgets that face the NHS and general practice, we have been looking at different ways of doing things as we focus our energy on making Fountain Medical Centre better and more sustainable in the long term.

We are pleased to make the following announcement:

Fountain Medical Centre, Manor Park in Bramley and Robin Lane Health and Wellbeing Centre in Pudsey are going to merge our clerical and administrative teams.

This means that all non-clinical functions such as administration, secretarial, prescriptions, where telephones are answered plus the managerial support work will be conducted away from the surgery building.

Your reception team’s role will be altering to the role of Care Navigator however the doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants will still remain here at Fountain Medical Centre.

Over the next few weeks we are looking to recruit more staff to work in the Booking Centre to answer the increasing number of calls each Practice is receiving. Once again please accept my apologies we are trying really hard to resolve this matter as quickly as possible
