This used to be an excellent practice but after recent GP changes is going downhill rapidly and now seems like you are just another number.
I had issues getting an appointment-was offered one in 2 weeks as first one they had!
Managed to get a cancellation today and have just been.
Doctor told me I needed to book blood tests-first appointment almost 2 weeks away! Receptionist so rude when I could not take the one appointment offered for next week due to work. Doctor also advised to buy some medication over counter after asking if I paid for prescriptions-so I assumed that that was cheaper way.
I was offered no advice on how to take the medication. Went to pharmacy next door,
They said did not have over counter and was cheaper on prescription-by a factor of 6 times! Over the counter it was only 2 tablets that can be sold-but as before I had been offered no advice on how to take so not sure what the 2 tablets were meant to do or how to take. They advised to go back into doctor and asked for medication on prescription.
I did this but the very, very rude, unhelpful and jobsworth receptionist said I could not have a prescription without talking to doctor!
Pointed out I had literally just come out of his office-no good apparently.
So now i need to have a doctor call me tomorrow to discuss (but not the same doctor as they are not working tomorrow) and then, if i can have a prescription, I have to go back into the doctors, pick it up and then go back to the same pharmacist I have just been to to get it!
Its ridiculous-sure they are trying to solve the difficulty offering appointments by having patients just die waiting for one.
I cannot imagine why they are taking on new patients when they clearly cannot cope with the ones they have-2 weeks for most people to wait for an appointment is just ridiculous. I was also told by a receptionist I could not have the flu jab as I had the "wrong" asthma inhaler.
And when i did get the flu injection the nurse lunged at me with the needle as though launching a javelin-no chat, no questions and arm swelled and hurt for days afterwards which it has never done before
"Used to be good but going downhill fast. ..."
