I was admitted via ambulance with perforation to sigmoid colon after attending Accident and Emergency on the two previous evening with abdominal pain distension and vomiting. I was rushed to theatre around 03.00 and was initially admitted to ward 26 for 5 days. The staff on admission and in ward 26 were exceptional, I almost died and was very very unwell but the staff I came across were compassionate caring professional and I cannot praise them enough, especially the nurse who looked after me the very first night when I was straight out of theatre, I can't remember her name but she had the patience of a Saint .
Ward 4 was no different. All staff had plenty time a listening ear good old fashioned nursing qualities. I cannot praise my care enough medical staff pleasant and informative and answered all my questions. I praise Monklands Hospital to all who will listen as although not a pleasant experience I felt safe and well cared for !!
"I felt safe and well cared for!"
