Midwife helpline might as well not exist. Impossible to get through and even when you do they are too busy to help. Either told to call back, get a busy signal, or get forwarded to another line to be told they can’t help.
Called clinic to speak to midwife but they were busy, had ongoing shortness of breath and chest pains so was told over the phone to immediately come in to zone 4. Receptionists were friendly but waited 2 hours for assessment. Paper cover on bed had not been changed, was also a crumpled blanket.
Could overhear midwives arguing with each other.
Attending midwife didn’t clearly communicate what she was doing or meaning of outcomes (ie BP test, temp, fetal heart Doppler). My notes weren’t read, I have to repeat a lot every time I’m seen. Don’t understand the point of carrying my notes. Midwife wasn’t understanding my concerns.
Didn’t feel heard, taken seriously or treated with compassion. Didn’t see consultant. During stay repeatedly told they were very busy. Now looking into moving care providers as I do not trust I will receive good care for my baby and I.
