About: Three Towns Resource Centre / General Psychiatry

(as a relative),

My brother was referred to three towns resource centre for serious mental health problems including psychosis and suicidal ideations.

He was given one appointment and then sent away with the details of two other places to self refer to one being Addiction Services despite the fact he does not have an addiction!  I feel like this was an absolute joke. They appear to treat referrals like 'hot potatoes' that should be passed on to anywhere else! I will be contacting local MP.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Dedemac,

While it must be very distressing for your brother, it must be very difficult for you looking on too and I am so sorry you felt that your brother's care was not appropriate for his needs.

If you would like to speak to someone about this, I wonder if I can encourage you to contact me on 01563 826222 or the service direct, asking for Gillian Clowes, Team leader in the three towns on 01294-470010.

Choosing to contact us need not interfere with your plans to discuss this with your local MP but hopefully a chat with the service could be helpful too.

I hope your brother gets the care and attention he needs to get well.
