What I liked
I attended the Worcester Royal Hospital on August 20th 2010 for a hip operation which was very successful>I was very impressed with the Surgical team, the Consultants, and last but not least the theatre sister. Before the operation I was dreading having to have a General Anaethetic, however,I need not have worried as I was given a Spinal Injection which put my bottom half of my body to sleep but allowed me to be semi-conscious via a "sleepy" drug. The operation lasted nearly two hours but the great thing was that when I was in my bed in the Hazel Elective ward there were no after effects-wonderful I cannot speak highly enough of the care that I received from all the Hospital staff especially the Surgical and Nursing team. They were all friendly, professional and very efficient, everyone knew there duties under the watchful eye of the ward sister. Even the Pharmacist who visited me three times was very friendly and efficient, even the contract staff were cheerful in their work..
What could be improved
I just wish that more Patients would stop complaining about the food etc. and take a view about the whole experience in Hospital. It is an excellent Hospital with all the staff trying so hard to please and it deserves a better rating.,anyrate the soups and sweets were delicious!!
Anything else?
A big thank you to all the staff who attended to me from August 20th to August 26th. My letter to the local paper singing your praises was appreciated as the Hazel Elective Matron telephoned me to thank me as it appears that some people are never satisfied and will always complain. Life is too short to be always negative.
