"Diligent and polite care in A&E"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Emergency Department

When my wife fell and badly fractured her wrist while on holiday, we spent an unscheduled few hours in the care of Royal Cornwall A&E staff. We really cannot fault in any way the care and attention she received - from the moment the ambulance arrived until we left with her arm in plaster.

All the staff - medical and administrative - carried out their jobs with patience, politeness and good humour.

We were particularly impressed with the two doctors who manipulated the fracture back into place, and a subsequent visit to the Fracture Clinic our own local hospital confirmed that the bones were well-aligned and the expertise demonstrated at the Royal Cornwall may well have prevented a second open operation.

Whilst we would not want to repeat the experience, we are grateful to all staff concerned.

Dear Anonymous

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your review of Royal Cornwall Hospitals Emergency Department. I am sorry that your wife had cause to use our services whilst you were on holiday, but am so pleased to hear that you both had such a positive experience and your wife received wonderful care.

I will ensure that your feedback and appreciation is shared with the team as I know they will be delighted to read it also.

Many thanks again and I hope your wife's wrist is healing well.

With kind regards

Michaela Brewer, Patient Experience Coordinator
