"very little on this occasion. the staff..."

About: Leighton Hospital

What I liked

very little on this occasion. the staff on ward 12 deserve thanks for the caring and calming atmosphere however on my readmittance with infection to another ward the experience was very different and quite frankly I am glad to be home in the care of district nurses

What could be improved

I was told 5 minutes before Iwas due in theatre that the consultant who had agreed to do my operation 9 months previosly has "dumped" me on another team of surgeons who I had never heard of and consequently had no faith in. My confidentiality was constantly ignored even though I had told the hospital how important it was to me. hardly any of the medical staff introduced themselves to me at any time.

I was visited by the management who has failed to answer any of my questions regarding my tretament but was very good at reciting platitudes and trying to fob me off. This was a very bad experience of Leighton . My consultant was extremely unpleasant to both patients and staff and quite frankly I have changed my opinion of the hospital from excellent on previous in patient periods on orthopaedics to dreadful on general surgery. communication on this Ward needs to be vastly improved between patients and staff
