"Appalling treatment from pre-op to post op"

About: Huddersfield Hospital

Appalling treatment from pre-op to post op. I would not attend this hospital again and would certainly not recommend

Pre operation screening appointments arranged but not attended by the hospital representative on 4 occasions. Required me spending a whole day chasing to ensure I had the pre op assessment 2 days before surgery.

Not screened for MRSA

Surgeon late turning up on the day of operation. Minimal pre operative consultation by surgeon. Surgeon did not speak to me after the operation to tell me what they had done whilst I was under their care under general anaesthetic. Sent home with no idea what had happened during surgery, with no pain relief and told that I would have 'period type pain for 24 hours' Five days later I was still in considerable pain. I telephoned the hospital more than once and no one was able to tell me what had been done to me during surgery. I chased to have copies of my notes sent to my GP so they could be reviewed, when I finally received them there no operation notes, only a very rude note from the Consultant.
