"I was admitted as an Urgent Care case on..."

About: Luton & Dunstable Hospital

What I liked

I was admitted as an Urgent Care case on monday 6th Sept and am the first to admit was a little nervous, this being my first time as an inpatient! However the staff on Level 2 Ward 20 were fab - kind, reassuring, with a good sense of humour and I trusted them completely. As I was nil by mouth and on a drip for three days while waiting for surgery they made every effort to get me to eat and drink when theatre was shut, and allowed me to wander about at will visiting other patients (trust me it was very much appreciated that I was not made to stay in bed if I didnt want to!) Everything was very clean and tidy, pain meds were brought speedily on request, pillows were plumped, beds were changed daily, questions were answered honestly, I was tucked into bed each night and nobody laughed when my bum was showing...no wonder I would go back!

What could be improved

not much, if I had to say something it would be communication between staff but apart from that you were brilliant.

Anything else?

Overall a very nice experience and one I would happily have again - Well done all the good people at L&D and if I ever win the lottery I will be thinking of you first. You should all be very proud of your commitment and hard work xxx
