"Rude receptionist more interested in their..."

About: Ilkeston Community Hospital

I came to the minor injuriries department after a phone call to 111 regarding my 2 year old sons chesty cough through the night and generally being unwell. The receptionist ‘welcoming’ me was rude, grumpy, gave no eye contact and was more interested in finishing their crossword puzzle than helping us. Their response to me was ‘well there are no doctors here, I don’t know what you’re doing here, you’ll just have to see a nurse!’ I don’t know why they think it is acceptable to speak to anyone like that, especially someone who is just wanting to get her young son checked over. We took a seat in the waiting room and they happily completed their crossword puzzle for the next hour! Customer service at its best!
