My mother has had severe pain in her knee for the last two years, her health has deteriorated to the point where she can no longer get around, this has deeply affected her health in more ways than one.
She was so active before her knee troubles, and now her wrists are so weak that she cant even use the crutches she was provided with to get around. She is seriously depressed, she cries uncontrollably now down the phone to me, or when i'm at her house, even down to having expressed suicidal thoughts which i am doing my best to comfort her in these times.
She has been passed from doctor to doctor all who say she badly needs an operation due to having very bad damage in her knee, but for whatever reason whenever she is called in for a possibly operation date it gets postponed and pushed to the back of the que.
She feels that the doctors and hospital have stopped caring about her and have just left her to rot in her home. I dont know what else to do, i have emailed the board in south wales but have not got a reply as of yet.
Her health has gone down hill so fast that i'm worried she will become another statistic in the NHS health numbers. If someone could advice me in what i can do to get my mother the treatment she needs. Her hospital is the Royal Glamorgan in Llantrisant. I hope you can help.
