"Delivery of my baby boy Milo via forceps in..."

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital / Maternity

In complete transparency I was slightly anxious about delivering at the Royal sussex over Worthing given some of the reports from a few years ago I had read. However when it came to it these anxieties were completely unfounded. The staff were beyond exceptional and whilst my birth did not go to plan and was difficult I felt fully informed and involved in all decisions. Whilst I ended up in surgery fairly rapidly once it started to be difficult and I had a major blood loss I was looked after so well and could not fault any aspect of the care I received. Each staff member involved in my care was compassionate and caring but also direct enough that I felt completely confident and reassured at every step of the way. My husband was included in all decisions and the staff were also very throughout around how he was coping with the situation. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the unit and the staff who work tirelessly within it to provide the best care for women and their birthing partners even in the trickiest of situations.

Thank you for taking the time to share your very kind words with us.

I was so pleased to learn that the care, professionalism and compassion shown by our staff made such a difference at what must have been a very frightening and difficult time for you.

I do hope you are now recovering well and enjoying welcoming Milo to your family

with best wishes
