"Daughter's attendance at Sick Children's A&E dept"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gynaecology (Ward 49) Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

The department was very busy but we were literally seen within 15 minutes by triage nurse then escorted through to the assessment unit. Wonderful doctor and nurses, all taking the time to assess whilst explaining the 'whats' and 'whys' and making sure my daughter had pain relief and was as comfortable as possible. The unit was spotless and the domestic never stopped cleaning, changing screens, washing worktops, emptying bags etc throughout the few hours we were there.

A specialist had to assess my daughter from the adult services and before she came she requested an ultrasound and specific bloods. The problem was identified, treatment started and a follow up plan put in place. My daughter said to me 'they are like the police investigating something....no stone left unturned'. I am so pleased to be sharing this experience as all you seem to read in the press is the bleakest of stories. Thank you from the bottom of my heart NHS GG&C Sick Children's A&E and QEUH Gynaecology services

Dear Trixy,

Thank you for sharing such lovely feedback.

I am so sorry your daughter was feeling unwell, and am glad that we were able to get her pain under control, and treatment started as quickly as possible.

Our entire Emergency Department team work hard to ensure each patient is cared for as an individual, and that the clinical and compassionate care is of the very highest standards, as are our facilities.
Our General Manager and Chief Nurse have taken this opportunity to also pass on their thanks to the team involved.

I hope your daughter continues to recover.

Kind regards

Coral
