"Routine Eye Check"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / General surgery

Arrived at reception at 8.45 for my appointment and was told by staff member to take a seat. I wanted to use the toilet but soon realized there was no lock on the door and it smelt quite bad, so decided to not bother. I was eventually seen at 9.30 (no apologies for their lateness).Drops were put in my eyes and I was told to wait in the waiting room until my pupils had dilated and a Doctor was available. Was eventually seen at 10.15. Was told to wait in another waiting room as photographs were necessary 10.45. Had to wait in yet another waiting room as i was told the Doctor wanted to speak with me.Left hospital eventually at 11.00 totally frustrating experience.

I am very sorry to hear about your experience during your eye check at Stepping Hill Hospital.

In relation to your concern about the toilet, your post has been shared with the Estates Department asking that they rectify the situation as soon as possible.

With regards to your treatment, I have of course shared your feedback with the management team however, if you would like us to investigate your concerns, I would be grateful if you could contact the Patient and Customer Services Team on 0161 419 5678 to provide your contact information and more specific details on your visit.

Kind regards
