"Webpage out of date, team short staffed but..."

The telephone number given is for the appointments team for the hospital, not the neurology department. The main reception was not able to give a working phone number for the neurology department. The neurology department does not have a specialist epilepsy nurse and has not had one for several years.

If you are being referred and think that you will be able to see a neurologist shortly after having an MRI then be prepared for a wait. Current waiting time for MRI results are over 8 weeks and then they sort out your appointment.

In my case I had an MRI and then saw the Neurologist a few weeks later. No results for the MRI available but Neurologist decided to send me back for additional MRI testing. 3 months later the Neurologist rings me to tell me only just got MRI result and tells me I have a Brain Tumour over the phone, 2 days later was at John Radcliffe seeing a Neurosurgeon.

To cap this off just had my latest appointment cancelled as my Neurologist has left the hospital and no new date for an appointment. As I need a follow up MRI it is going to be at least 2 months before they get me results anyway so my regular follow up is going to months late and if I need referring back to John Radcliffe it could be months before I know anything about it.
