I was initially diagnosed with a pregnancy of unknown location, and later with a left-sided ectopic pregnancy, in August 2017.
I found this experience absolutely terrifying but the standard of care I received was fantastic and the nurses and doctors in the Early Pregnancy Unit/Gynaecological Ward really helped to alleviate my fears. I was given telephone access to the unit/ward 24 hours a day, was welcomed and supported by all staff at each check up and felt confident that at every stage of my treatment I was being thoroughly monitored and cared for. The doctors, and nurses in particular, took time to explain each stage of my treatment, answer questions and listen to how I was feeling, despite obviously being extremely busy. The level of care I received made a difficult situation just that bit easier, and I will always be grateful for that.
