Would thank surgeon for his consideration in operation no 2 of 2 although it has not been successful
What could be improved
Communication -
1.Taking into account the patient's existing conditions in the initial assessment
2.Taking notice of the patient's prescription when offered to staff at first assessment
3.Listening to the patient when difficulties were first advised
4.Replying to patient correspondence and enquiries
5.Replying to GP correspondence
6.Providing information to patient
7.Support during treatment
8.Communication between staff and information on the file
9.Follow up and aftercare- problems at discharge have been passed on to GP and opticians
10.A system of overall responsibiliity for case management
Anything else?
Above would be helped by -
1.Taking account of patients existing conditions in assessment
2.Assessing patients vision needs and lifestyle in making clinical decisions
3.Sharing this information with the patient so they can make informed decisions
4.Providing advice on visual aids for patients temporarily or permanently disabled during treatment
5.Replying to patients correspondence, even verbally
6.Replying to GP correspondence and acting on it
7.A system of overall case management and having a named point of contact for patients enquiriies
