"Maternity ward staff not helpful."

About: New Cross Hospital / Maternity care

I had my twins at the New Cross maternity centre and all was great at the induction unit and delivery suite(Very friendly and courteous midwives and doctors) until I was transferred to the maternity wards. The midwives at the desk were neither helpful nor reassuring(I am a first time mum). They were also very rude and resenting. You'd press on the buzzer and nobody answers. There was also a bridge in the communication gap between the delivery suite and the maternity ward as I didn't notice continuity in my care. All in all I had the most terrible experience on the wards as I felt so lonely and not well taken care of.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments relating to your recent patient experience. I am sorry for any distress that this matter has caused.

May I also take this opportunity to congratulate you on the birth of your twins.

To enable me to look further into your concerns, I would be grateful if you can contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01902 695362.

Kindest regards
