"Excellent Team and Facilities at the Birth Centre"

My wife were recently admitted to the Queens Charlottes Birth Centre for a natural deliver.

This was our first child and we were naturally anxious. Once the contractions began, the telephone support we received from the midwives was professional, expert and made us feel we were looked after by a very capable team. We were sent home on our first visit, due to insufficient dilation, but we admitted 24 hours later when the contractions strengthened.

The facilities were first class - a private room with a birth pool, en-suite and fold away double bed for me. We were encouraged to play our hypnotherapy guided meditation, provided with electric candles to assist ambience & supported by a wonderful team of midwives the whole way through.

Since the contractions started to lessen, the midwives on duty, collectively discussed their approach and recommended a short respite in order to re-kick-start labour. This ended up being valuable and insightful advice. By Monday morning we had a beautiful baby girl.

What stood out for us was:

1) Exceptional staff who compassionately dispensed expert advice

2) Superb room facilities

3) Strong midwifery team who seamlessly supported each other and us

For us, this resulted in a truly magical experience and the perfect start to our exciting new chapter.
