"Orthopaedics"

About: Pontefract General Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

I have been under the excellent care of the surgeon having broken my ankle which required further surgery on 5.10.17. I have been very happy with the care and treatment i have received. Each decision which has been made has been clearly explained.

I was admitted to the elective orthopedic suite where I had to stay over night. The visiting hours were open which helps relieve any anxiety for patients and their family. The staff are very friendly and introduce themselves each shift. The communication between myself, surgeon, anaesthetist and nursing staff and physio was excellent with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Thank you to all the staff that help the wards and departments run well

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices.

I am really pleased to hear that the care provided to you was "excellent".

It is encouraging to read that you were given the opportunity to ask any questions as it can be quite daunting when going in for surgery.

I will pass on your lovely comments to all of the staff involved as they will really appreciate your feedback.

Thank you again and I wish you well with your recovery.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn
