"A great hospital"

About: Orthopaedics & Spine Specialist Hospital Site

I had suffered with lower back pain and sciatic pain for well over 12 months.

With ever increasing pain I was sent for an MRI scan, and subsequently referred by my local GP to this hospital in February.

The Consultant/ Surgeon explained that the disc at my L4/L5 vertebrae was bulging and trapping my sciatic nerve. They recommended an immediate spinal fusion. However, I went away to try less invasive forms of treatment.

At the start of June whilst on holiday, my disc finally collapsed, leaving me bed bound and in horrific pain.

Having visting the hospital again and seeing the pain I was in, the surgeon was able to arrange an early appointment time to operate on me at the end of July.

Everybody I have come into contact with at the hospital could not have been kinder and more helpfull.

Every process was very well explained.

The premises are very calm, and extremely clean and tidy.

After awaking from the operation, the sciatic pain had totally gone. Now 10 weeks later, I am well on the road to a full recovery, looking to start back working again in a few weeks time.

I am immensely privileged to have such a caring and attentive surgeon operate on me, backed up by a fantastic team - receptionist, anaethestist, radiographer, physiotherapist, cleaner and especially the nurses.

I cannot recommend this hospital highly enough.
