About: Queen Charlotte's Hospital / Maternity

I am Gabriella 30 years old. I am writing my review to tell people I am absolutely 100 percent happy with this hospital with the maternity ward. I gave birth to my first child on the 5th September 2017. I went into labour on the 4th September Monday morning. I got an epidural on the 3rd floor. The person had gold hand I could not feel anything after that nothing at all. I did not feel my contractions anymore. Do not be afraid to ask for an epidural it is the best thing for pain.! The epidural made me relax and sleep and I could ask for a top up every 20 minutes. My midwife was a lovely person on the 3. Floor. Unfortunately I forgot their name. :( Sorry:-( I could not get better person as a midwife. They were lovely, caring and professional. The midwife was there for me all the time. I felt so calm and relaxed next to them. After I got the epidural they broke my water I could not feel anything. :) That time I was 4 cm dielated. I became 10 cm dielated for 6 a.m. Unfortunately I was exhausted I could not push so I gave birth with forceps in the theatre. I had an episiotomy aswell but I could not feel the whole birth procedure and nothing at all because of the epidural. The people in the operation room they were sweet lovely all tried to calm me down and encouraged me. On the 5th September at 9:36 a.m. My little son was born with forceps with those lovely people's help.! They were all congratulated me and they were so happy that I gave birth naturally and they did not have to do a c section on me.! They were all amazing in the theatre. Thank you again all guys.! After birth We stayed 2 nights in the hospital. The after caring was great too. I loved the food. They told me and informed me always about everything. I loved the way they treated me. I can strongly recommend this hospital for anybody who plan to give birth. I would only give birth again in this hospital. Thank You again for everybody. Without you guys my birth experience would not be this good and thank you for the person who invented epidural.!!! Do not be scared from epidural it is a lovely thing I could not feel anything. Thank you for St Charlottes Queen Hospital. Well done everyone.!!!! Xxx

Thank you for your feedback which I have passed on to the maternity management team.

Could you please let me have your name and date of birth so they can look you up on the system to make sure everyone who assisted in the birth gets to see your lovely feedback.

My email address is martin.bowler@nhs.net

Kind regards

Martin
